During the school festival holday in November 2014, we visited the central Japan cities of Osaka and Kyoto. Over the course of five days, we spent a day in Osaka’s lively Dōtonbori district, wandered into the 400th anniversary of the Siege of Osaka at Osaka Castle, and visited as many of Kyoto’s 2,000 temples and shrines as we could.
